Principal's Bio


Ms. Sheila L. Barlow graduated from Mary Persons High School in 1990.  She attended and graduated from Clark Atlanta University in 1994, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  She returned to Clark Atlanta University to pursue a Masters in School Counseling in 1997.  Ms. Barlow joined the Butts County family in 2000, where she served 5 years as the Middle School Guidance counselor.  After receiving her Specialist degree in Education Leadership, Ms. Barlow was then very fortunate to begin her administrative career in 2005 at Daughtry Elementary School, where she worked as the Assistant Principal from 2005-2011.  In 2011 Ms. Barlow became the Principal at DES for two years and now she is leading the students and staff at Jackson Elementary School since 2013. Ms. Barlow enjoys every aspect of the job where she works with a tremendous staff, supportive parents and a motivated student body.  She considers her current position a "dream" job and looks forward to future challenges and continuing great success in the realm of academics and the fine arts that has been established as the expectation for Jackson Elementary School.

In her spare time, Ms. Barlow and her family enjoy, attending her brother’s church, working in the yard, playing golf, traveling, attending jazz music festivals and spending quality time with their family.
