Subjects Taught
Third Grade

I graduated from Mary Persons High School in Forsyth, Georgia.  I then attended Mercer University and graduated with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.  I have also taken some Graduate classes at Georgia College and State University.

I am beginning my 21st year in education.  I began my teaching career in Macon at Burghard Elementary School where I taught 4th grade reading and science.  I then taught 6 years at Hubbard Primary School in Forsyth, Georgia.  At Hubbard, I taught first and second grade SIA for one year, and then second grade for the next 5 years.  I began teaching third grade at Jackson Elementary School in 2002.  During my time here at JES, I have also taught first grade and second grade.  This year, I am teaching third grade reading, ELA, and social studies.

When I am not teaching at JES, I can be found enjoying one of my many hobbies.  I love to read!  I will read anything!  My mama used to say that I always had my nose stuck in a book, and I still do!  I also enjoy traveling, gardening, walking, bike riding, and watching the Atlanta Braves.  While I am not a sports fan, I love the Atlanta Braves, and try to attend as many games as possible.  I walk 2-4 miles a day, and bike ride whenever I can.  I love visiting the beach.  When I am at the beach I love to shark fish, walk along the shore, and read a book in my beach chair.  I also enjoy visiting the mountains.  I am fortunate enough to have relatives who live in the mountains in North Carolina, near Asheville.  I am married to a wonderful man who is a fire fighter.  Between the two of us, we have 3 daughters and 1 son.  We also have a granddaughter who is one year old. We live near Lake Jackson in Monticello, Georgia.  We have a dog named Shelby, who is 3 years old.
