EIP Third Grade-Fifth Grade

Bio

I'm starting my 35th year in education as the new EIP teacher for 4th and 5th grade at Jackson Elementary. I have been a classroom teacher, SIA and EIP teacher, Literacy Coach and Learning Support Specialist during those years. As a Reading Specialist, the majority of my career has been in the area of literacy, inside and outside of the classroom. I have been involved in a number of local, regional and statewide literacy projects and Reading Councils.  I recently served as the President of the Georgia Reading Association. I have hosted a Boys Book Club for over ten years.

I earned my Bachelor's degree from Georgia State University. I received my Master's degree and my Reading Specialist certification from the University of West Georgia. I earned my Specialist Degree in Leadership and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee. I was one of the first National Board Certified Teachers in the state of Georgia.

I live in Henry County with my husband of 41 years, Wayne. We have three great sons and now I have two beautiful daughter-in-laws and eight wonderful grandchildren, 6 boys and 2 girls. I love being involved in their activities, reading and traveling. Our goal is to travel to all 50 states and visit as many National Parks as we can. We only have 12 more states to visit!

I look forward to assisting our students at JES to reach their potential. If I can be of any assistance to you or your child, please call me or email me.
