What Are We Learning?

ELA- We are reading informational text, The Congress of the United States. Also, please make sure that students are reading out loud for 20 minutes each night to help with reading fluency!  

No spelling words this week!

Math- Our learning targets for this week are:  

I can create a model for multiplication and division.

Social Studies- We are learning about the beginnings of Democracy.

Science- Students are learning about Rocks and Minerals.     We will be taking a field trip to the Rock Quarry on Wednesday.


We have had a large number of students who are not completing and turning in their homework assignments each week. Please talk with your students about the importance of turning in completed assignments.

Word Study

These are the words for October 31-November 4, 2016

Concept: Monosyllabic Words

·         Diagram

·         Ingredients

·         Nutrients

·         Bacteria

·         Sand

·         Silt

Your child should complete 4 spelling activities each week (one per night) to be turned in each Friday.  The activities are listed on the colored sheet in your child’s notebook.  Your child may choose any of the listed activities.  Daily practice with these words will help your child learn the words and do well on the spelling test on Friday
